Choosing a wedding photographer is a major decision, and we want you to understand exactly what you are investing in.

Below are answers to some of the most common questions couples ask when reviewing our Chicago wedding photography prices and packages.

How much does wedding photography cost with Walking Visions Photography?

Our current wedding photography options begin at $725 for local elopement coverage, with additional half-day and full-day wedding photography packages available.

​

For couples who want full-day wedding photography without purchasing one of our larger collections, our à la carte wedding photography option starts at $1,300.

​

Your final investment depends on the amount of coverage, number of photographers, wedding events being covered, locations, and additional services you select.

What is included in the $1,300 à la carte wedding photography option?

Our à la carte option is designed for couples who primarily need full-day wedding photography and want the flexibility to add other services separately.

​

It begins with one professional wedding photographer providing full-day wedding coverage.

​

Additional services, including engagement photography, videography, photo booth experiences, wedding albums, livestreaming, and other enhancements  can be added based on your needs.

How do I reserve my wedding date?

To officially reserve your wedding date with Walking Visions Photography, we require:

• A signed wedding photography agreement

• A 50% non-refundable retainer

​

Your remaining balance is due 14 calendar days before your wedding date.

​

Submitting an inquiry or attending a consultation does not reserve the date. Your date is officially secured once your signed agreement and required retainer have been received.

​

Do you offer payment plans?

We understand that weddings include many financial commitments.

​

Your initial 50% retainer reserves your date, with the remaining balance due 14 calendar days before the wedding.

If you would like to make payments toward your remaining balance before the final due date, please discuss available payment arrangements with us during your consultation.

Can we customize a wedding photography package?

Yes.

Our packages provide a starting structure, but your wedding does not have to look exactly like someone else's.

Depending on your needs, we can discuss photography coverage, additional photographers, videography, engagement sessions, photo booth services, rehearsal dinner coverage, livestreaming, albums, and other services.

If one of our standard packages does not fit your wedding, our à la carte option may be the better starting point.

​

Can we add services after we have already booked?

In many cases, yes, subject to availability.

​

If you decide later that you want to add videography, a photo booth, additional photography coverage, another photographer, an album, or another service, contact us as early as possible.

​

Some services require additional team members or equipment, so availability becomes more limited as your wedding date approaches.

​

Do you offer engagement photography separately?

Yes.

Our standalone Engagement Session is currently $375 and includes up to 1.5 hours of photography, a guaranteed minimum of 30 edited digital photographs, and a 30-second edited video.

Engagement sessions are also included in select wedding packages.

​

Do you offer wedding videography?

Yes.

Walking Visions Photography provides wedding videography options that can complement your photography coverage.

Depending on your needs, video coverage may include:

Yes.

Wedding photo booth experiences can be added to select packages or booked as an additional service.

Do you offer a second wedding photographer?

Yes.

Several of our larger wedding packages already include multiple photographers, and additional photography coverage may also be discussed when building a custom wedding experience.

Your final gallery includes the professionally selected and edited photographs that best represent your wedding story.

Our goal is quality, consistency, and storytelling, not withholding meaningful images simply to meet an arbitrary number.

Do we receive high-resolution digital wedding photos?

Yes.

Your completed wedding photographs are delivered through a private online gallery with digital download access.

This makes it easy to view your photographs and share your wedding memories with family and friends.

How long does it take to receive our wedding photographs?

Our goal is to provide a faster experience than the traditional months-long wedding photography turnaround.

Our current delivery process includes:

• Next-day teaser options

• Sneak peeks within 14 days

• Complete wedding gallery in less than 30 days

Do you photograph Black and multicultural weddings?

Absolutely.

Walking Visions Photography is a Black-owned Chicago photography company, and we proudly photograph couples, families, traditions, cultures, faiths, and celebrations from many different backgrounds.

We are particularly intentional about accurately photographing and editing different skin tones.

From lighting through final editing, our goal is for your photographs to maintain the richness, depth, and natural appearance of your complexion rather than using editing approaches that wash out or incorrectly alter skin tones.

Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?

Our wedding questionnaire and planning process allow you to tell us about religious traditions, cultural practices, family expectations, special ceremonies, memorials, and other meaningful elements we should be prepared to photograph.

Do you photograph weddings outside Chicago?

Yes.

Although Walking Visions Photography is based in Chicago, we serve couples throughout Chicagoland, the surrounding suburbs, Central Illinois, and select destinations outside the immediate Chicago area.

​

If your wedding is outside our standard service area, send us your venue and location information so we can provide accurate pricing and discuss any applicable travel considerations.

​

Can you photograph weddings at multiple locations?

Yes.

Many wedding days involve multiple locations, including getting-ready locations, churches, ceremony venues, portrait locations, and reception venues.

​

Select packages include unlimited coverage locations within the contracted photography time.

During your planning process, we will review your locations and help determine whether your timeline allows enough travel time between them.

​

What happens if our wedding runs longer than expected?

Wedding timelines can change.

If your wedding requires photography beyond the coverage included in your agreement, speak with us as early as possible about extending your coverage.

​

If additional coverage is requested on the wedding day, availability will depend on our team and existing commitments.

​

We are uncomfortable in front of the camera. Will you help us pose?

Absolutely.

You do not need modeling experience to have beautiful wedding photographs.

We provide guidance with positioning, body language, posing, movement, and placement when direction is needed while still creating space for authentic moments to happen naturally.

Our goal is not to make you look overly posed. It is to help you feel confident while still looking like yourselves.

​

Do we have to know exactly what package we want before contacting you?

No.

That is one of the reasons we offer complimentary wedding consultations.
